The List

I have a whole list of things I want and need to do, I thought that if I wrote them down maybe I could start accomplishing some of them, maybe....

Laundry
Get the play room picked up, again.
weed
plant bushes
buy flower bulbs and plant them
Get out Halloween decorations
Finish organizing the garage
Spray off the back deck
Clean out the sand box of all the broken toys
Mail my thank you cards that I wrote 2 months ago...grrrr.
Get Leila's birth announcements printed and mailed
Upload pictures to Kodak gallery
Order pictures from Kodak gallery
Put together picture albums
Convert blog to book
Make a "First Year" book for Charlie
Put our home videos on a dvd
Make some more bows
Make a stroller blanket
Learn how to sew better
Learn how to decorate cakes better
Get back in shape
Organize all my recipes
Print off my new recipes
Figure out how I'm going to plan for dinners better
Clean out and organize my storage room
Clean the basement
Label lots of stuff with a label maker
Finish decorating just about every room in my house (that's a list in and of itself)
Prepare better FHE lessons
Attend the temple more often
Get on regular scripture study ritual
Pray with my husband regularly

Umm....this list could go on and on, does anyone else have a list like this? I'm sure you all do and you're all much better at getting stuff crossed off, I however am not. It's like you have one productive day and you're wiped out for the week because the next days you're catching up on all the every day stuff you didn't do because you were trying to get your "list" of stuff done. Plus you're just worn out from being a mom there's not much left to do anything else, no time, not enough money. So my list sticks to all the basic things and all those wants remain wants, but I want to be able to do them. Help.

2 Months

This post is a little past due but the pictures were taken at 2 months. She is already getting so big! My newborn is gone and it makes me so sad. But I'm loving the chubbiness she is getting, she looks like she's getting some rolls! Charlie and Kenya never had much chubbiness, she must get it from me. :)

At 2 months Leila is
Sleeping a good 8 hours at night
Smiling all the time and recognizing voices
Loves her baths
Has moved from our closet to her room
Has found her fist and loves to suck on it.

Weight-11 lbs 9 oz (at 11 weeks)

The last time I took her in (around 4 weeks) I told my doctor that she was being pretty fussy when she'd try to go to sleep, and would wake up often with a painful cry. He suggested I go off dairy or limit it and see if that helps along with taking probiotics and angling her mattress. So I did and it really made a big difference. Ever since she has been a really good baby. I can eat a little dairy and she's fine and even if I do have ice cream she's still not terribly bad but I do notice she's more fussy the next day.

It's so fun when they start giving you back a little something with those smiles, I could just kiss those cheeks all day. :)

Road Trippin'

We took a little road trip, okay a big long road trip up to Washington to see my Oma and Opa and our good friends the Hess's over Labor Day. It's usually about a 12 hour drive but we got stuck in traffic towards the end and it added an extra two hours to our drive. Our kids were great in the car though thanks to the DVD player and Leila was a little angel, eating and sleeping and smiling, oooh I just want to squeeze those cheeks!
The first night was filled with some black berry picking along with some black berry stains all over Charlie's clothes from the black berry eating. My grandparents have tons of wild black berry bushes right outside their back door. I have many memories of picking these as a kid.

We took a trip in to Seattle the next morning. Oma and Opa live in Bremerton, one ferry ride away from Seattle, the best way to get there by far!
The kids were throwing goldfish in the air and watching the seagulls catch them as we were on the ferry.
Then we went to Ivar's, the only place my kids make sure NOT to eat all their fries so they can feed them to the seagulls.

We took the monorail into the city center to see the Space Needle. In all the times I've been to Seattle I've never gone up the Space Needle so we decided to bite the bullet and pay the $18 and see the view from the top.

Leila slept at the bottom and waited for us with my mom.

Top of the Space Needle.

Pretty view.

Back on the monorail

The next day Charlie and Mark got to go sailing with my aunt and her husband. Always a highlight.

This is a picture of Mark, Rick and Opa fixing the "hamburger" that my mom crunched. She borrowed our car to go down to her condo and forgot about the cargo carrier (it got nick named the hamburger because it is big and fat and well looks like a big ol hamburger is sitting on your car. :)) She pulled into her parking garage and smashed it. She called Opa who came and got it and went to work on it. Just the type of thing he loves to do. A couple hours later it was fixed and probably better than it was before.

Kenya with my mom, oma, and Aunt Marialyn. We headed to the Hess's this night and stayed with them for a couple days before heading home. I unfortunately didn't take any pictures but we had a great time like always!

Welcome Scarlett

My sister Cami had her baby on Monday, her actual due date, and she did it NATURAL. I got to be there and she did amazing. It was very intense and emotional to watch so I can't imagine what it would be like to be the one doing it!

Welcome Scarlett Camille Lane
7lbs 4 oz
20 inches
August 30, 3:23 pm

She looks a lot like her oldest sister Sailor, same "crazy" hair as Kenya says. :)

Good job Cam, she's a keeper!
