I'm going to be completely honest, this year Valentines day was a bit depressing. We had been home from our cruise for 2 days, the depression had set in. I was in the post cruise blues, I was tired (aren't you suppose to come home from a vacation rejuvinated?), and sad to be in such crummy, cold, weather. I was missing the sun and our care free week. Still I tried to put on my game face, I got Valentines stuff for my kids, they each had a little package filled with "like" books, a 2011 book of them, and valentines treats. I decorated the table a little and got heart shaped balloons. I decided to try something new this year and break away from the pink heart shape pancakes I've done since Charlie was 1, and I tried red velvet pancakes with pink vanilla sauce, strawberries and whip cream. Umm, they were delicious but what did I hear from Charlie "how come we're not having pink heart pancakes?" I don't think I heard a "thank you" from anyone's lips that morning, we were rushed out the door for school and the gym and I was not in a very loving mood. This picture sums up our morning, half eaten pancakes, orange strawberry julius barely touched, valentine package barely opened and neglected, my time consuming book I put together in the middle of it just waiting to be ruined.

I saw Paige at the gym that morning and we both whined about being depressed to be home. I was glad someone else was feeling the same way and it made me feel a little better. :)
Back at home Leila was getting into the hershey kisses on the table...

I made a little valentine lunch for Kenya...

Kenya went to school and when she got home we made rice krispy treats into big hershey kisses shapes for their friends. They turned out kind of hard. Sorry friends...

Leila was thrilled with the balloons, which was good because I didn't really get her anything else.

Right before she let it go to the top of our 20 foot ceiling where it still remains 2 weeks later.

I made pizza rolls in the shape of a heart that night for dinner. Let's just say I felt like I was in the kitchen all day and I was tired.

Tried to get a picture with my little loves...that's always a fun...

Mark and I put the kids to bed and literally fell asleep on the couch at 8:30. The day wiped me out. It also wiped out my cruise blues and got me back into reality. I was grateful that the next day was not a holiday, although I did have clients all day long so by Thursday I was grateful that I didn't have anything going on, just an extremely messy house that needed cleaning...it never ends.
But I really am grateful for it all.
