The year FINALLY came for Charlie to play football. He has been counting down the years until he was seven years old and could play. Mark was an assistant coach and enjoyed being a part of it, although it was time consuming it was nice for me to have him in charge of getting Charlie to his practices and games. There wasn't very many seven year olds on the team and Charlie got quite a bit of playing time. He played offense and defense, receiver, corner back, and middle line backer. Their team had a great season 7-1, Charlie was asked to be on the Allstart team for a one day tournament where they barely lost their first game. He was so excited to get his helmet and his jersey and begs me to wear his jersey to school. Although it's not my favorite look I realize he likes it and I give in. We were proud of him this season.
Kenya played soccer and really loved it this season. She was pretty aggressive with the ball, we missed a couple of games being out of town and on her final game I got the time mixed up again (I did the exact same thing with Charlie one year and his final game) I felt sooo awful! Talk about a bad mom moment. She played for about 1 minute while I ran back to the car with Leila in tow to get the treats that we were suppose to bring. She got her medal which helped cheer her up and she forgave me pretty quick and was over it by the time we got home, thankfully. Still, I felt so bad.
Kiley and Kenzie at her last game.
Kenya and some of the other little sisters learned some cheers to do at Charlie's football game...
#6 in the red shoes. I loved that he had red shoes so I could pick him out so much easier. I might have to always buy him bright colored shoes so he'll stand out.
Coach Holbrook and little Holbrook.
