My Little One

Leila's actual birthday is on July 8 which was a Sunday this year.  She got some birthday pancakes for breakfast and that was about it for the big day since we just celebrated the night before.  Here she is just waking up and coming downstairs.  She was getting her molars at this time which is why her fingers are in her mouth so much, plus we took the binky away a week or so before.  It was getting to be harder rather than easier, she was crying for it all.the.time.  I kept holding onto it because we were going on a big trip that month and I thought it might be easier for those watching her but when my sister said "It'll be easier if you just take it away so we don't have to worry about it" I was all over that and that day it was gone.  For the most part she did great after a couple days.  She cried everytime she went down and still usually does but never for very long.  Now it's just a distant memory.  Hooray!

I made cake batter pancakes with sprinkles, might be a new tradition in our family.  The older two thought it was pretty cool.

Before church...

Stats at 25 months
Weight- 24.8 lbs, 22%
Height- 33 1/2 " 41%
Head circ- 46 1/2 cm 22%

She is my littlest baby, which is weird because she doesn't look it and she was my biggest newborn.  She is really talking a lot more now, she knows most of her colors, green, yellow, blue, pink, purple (I love how she says purple, pu pul).  She loves all the farm animals, especially the "moo's, doodles, and oinks(she tries to snort for that one)."  She loves when we read her books and I often find myself giving in and reading more than the alotted 1 at bedtime and naptime that I always stuck to with Kenya and Charlie (I know, I'm so mean.  I'm trying to be better at enjoying this time with my kids instead of rushing through it.  It does not always happen.)  She gets so excited when she sees something she knows and will point it out and say it over and over and over until I acknowledge it.  She loves the "choo choo" (Thomas The Train) and Elmo look and find books right now.  She also loves watching Nemo, which she calls Elmo, it's very confusing.  She loves her babies and puts them to "nigh nigh", so cute.  Bring on the two's, terrible and all, thankfully it can also be the cutest time of their lives.  Love you little one.

Happy Birthday Leila! Oh...and Mark too. :)

Two years ago this little joy joined our lives, crazy.  It's so true what they say, "the days are long but the years are short."  This little spitfire has me guessing all day.  She's definitely turned a little bit since being twoish.  She can throw a tantrum like you wouldn't believe, is a really good hitter, is not very good at sharing, is really friendly to a select few people and very scared of just about everyone else.  She is also a momma's girl, she's a great cuddler and wants to just sit on my lap and watch her shows all the time, she gives good kisses and hugs.  Especially to Mark and Charlie if they're leaving.  She has to sleep with her blanket and bunny pillow still at night, lays on the pillow and wants the blanket over her.  When I check on her she is still asleep that way, not a big mover like the other two were.  She always wants to wear her footie jammies (the hot fleece carter ones) and I always feel so bad putting her in them at night because it is so hot right now but it's what she always chooses and will put up a fit if I don't put them on.  She loves watching shows, her favorites right now are "Bang Bang" (Chitty Chitty Bang Bang) and she's discovered princesses, or "peesas" as she says.  I don't know how she figured out what a princess is, maybe Kenya?  She points them out everywhere though.  She also loves playing with Kenya's princes or "daddies" as she calls them.  Over all she's just a little cutie and so fun to have around.
Her two year old chair shots...

We had a combined party for her and Mark since their birthdays are just 5 days apart.  She was funny with the cake and candles, was not sure about it at all.  You can tell by the pictures...

I attempted to make a cake for Mark, oreo ice cream cake.  I wanted it to look like an ice cream cone melted on it, it didn't quite turn out that way...

Leila's was a pink lemonade cake that ice cream cone is made out of frosting, again not quite the vision I had but they tasted good!

After we sang happy birthday Jayme was trying to get some pictures of Leila with her cake while I went inside with Mark's to dish it out.  Leila was not very happy and was trying to figure out where I was I guess, once again you can tell by the pictures :)

She was much happier when I brought her in and she ate some cake.

Mark got an ice cream maker, sticking with the theme. :)  He did want one too.

Leila's presents...

Her favorite, the wiggle car.  She loves this thing.

Kenya was sad she didn't get one, of course.

Happy Birthday little one!  We love you!
