Fourth of July

We didn't stray much from our usual 4th of July celebrations this year.  We had some festive pancakes in the morning and went to the Centerville parade.  Luckily Cami set chairs out the night before so we got to be on the shady side of the street, makes all the difference.  My kids got sackfuls of candy, which I put away, they forgot about, and I threw away.  I think it's more fun for them to just gather the candy anyway.

These two are kind of wearing the same thing!  Cora loves Rich, all my babies have!

It was fun to see Sailor with the Centerville Jr. cheerleaders.

We layed low that afternoon, took naps and had Colby and Erianne over for some hot dogs.  Then we met up with Jared and Jaynee at Oakridge for some fire works and fun.

I think she got hurt on the bouncy house.

Proud and grateful to be an American!

Summer Days

Summer days are upon us and it's been so nice.  We usually try and get to level 2 each morning, which means doing their routine, workbooks, reading, cleaning bedroom, practice time, and any other chores I want them to do.  Usually this takes all.morning.long.  It's kind of exhausting on my part, I wish they could just wake up and do it.  Once in a while that happens.  Luckily Cora usually takes a morning nap so we have all morning to get stuff done around the house.  Often times we'll go swimming after things are done or the kids just want to play with friends which is fine with me.  I also started having Kenya and Charlie switch off making and cleaning up lunch.  Sometimes they're good about, other times it's easier for me to just do it. :)

These pictures are at Charlie's soccer game, Kenya was sharing a sucker with Cora and she was loving it.  Her first sucker.

Making lunch.

Our neighborhood rented a blow up slide and we had a little party.  It was a lot of fun for the kids.

This is what I call fourth child syndrome.  We set her on the grass and she roamed to all the abandoned pizza and started eating pieces, and we let her. Sometimes you're just happy they're entertained!

She was such a disaster in this white dress, she's pretty much a disaster every day at the end of the day.  This age and summer requires two baths a day.

12 Year Anniversary

We celebrated our 12 year anniversary this year by going up to Snowbird for two days and one night.  It was a much needed break, like always but it's been a long time for us since we went away just the two of us.  It's been stressful to have this thyroid thing on my mind all the time so I was glad to have a distraction from that.

I started taking some tennis lessons with Cami this summer.  It's fun but tennis is hard!  A few lessons in and I am still not very good.  Mark humored me though, we had fun playing.  If you can even call it that.

We went into Draper for a Doctor appointment I had.  It went well, I feel like every appointment I have gives me a little more hope for the future of my thyroid.  This doctor did an ultrasound and said my lymphs looked good from what he could tell and he told me the nodule was only 1.5 cm, it's been measuring 2.25 cm every other time.  I think it's because of my diet, supplements, and oils that I've been doing strictly these last few weeks, he laughed and said those things wouldn't work.  I don't believe him though. :)  He gave me hope that I won't have to do radioactive iodine after surgery if it is malignant so that was good too.  I really didn't want to have to do that.

After the doctor we went to the Draper Temple and did sealings.  It's a beautiful temple, I love seeing new temples.  There are so many around us I'd like to go to new ones more often.  I loved being reminded of our wedding 12 years ago.  I can't even believe it's been that long.

After the temple it was time for a pedicure and a massage, then back up to Snowbird for dinner at the Steak Pit.  Delish.

The next morning we hung out by the pool for a couple hours before heading home.  Take me back, it was so nice!

So grateful for 12 amazing and challenging years.  I'm grateful for those challenges we've had.  We've grown a lot and they've made us stronger.  I can truly say I love him more today than I did then.  Not sure if he can say the same thing about me, I think he's getting better and I'm getting worse!  :) Love you babe.

More Boating!

This is that smile when we start cruising on the       boat, love it!  The captain of the ship, he's a great driver.  Good looking too. :)

Kenya got up on this U ski of the Hansons.  She loved it.

 Kenya and Brooklyn

 Wake surfing at sunset.

Charlie got up on two skis.  He's a natural.  This is typical for Leila by the time we're heading back to shore.

Cora does pretty good on the boat for a 15 month old.  It's a little more stressful with her but we'll be over this stage soon enough.

Cute little besties Kenya and Brighton.

The tube is always a huge hit.

 Little monkey's.

Charlie was frustrated after his first attempt at the wakeboard but got right up his second time around and is doing great at it.  He also loves kneeboarding, and surfing.

Our trip with the Poulson clan.  Always fun being with cousins.

We've been trying to get out on the Lake every chance we get and are loving it!
