Swim lessons

The three older kids took swim lessons this year from our neighbor and Leila took two lessons.  Once the kids went back to school I put her in an older class and she is now swimming on her own and doing great!  She even jumped off the diving board on the last day and swam almost the whole length of the pool.  She loves jumping off the edge and loves diving for things in the shallow end.

So proud of you Leila!

Below are some pics from Jared's pool.  Toe touches off the diving board and Kenya flying high in a back flip.  Kenya also braved the back flip off the diving board this year.  She just went up and did it, we were all shocked and impressed!

Backyard Playing

Most Sunday afternoons we spend a good majority of our time outside.  Usually it's the kids and the Johnson kids just happen to be out there too and they get away with "playing" on Sunday because it means we get some peace and quiet for a couple hours.  Most of the time Mark goes out there and plays with them for a while and this Sunday I headed out and got some play time, with the girls at least, Charlie does not think it's fun to throw a football with mom even though for a girl I think I'm pretty decent. :)  These girls however think I'm fun still so we did their favorite game of airplane, all with Cora sitting on my chest. :)

How cute is she?!  She is such a doll and developing a silly personality.  Love these summer nights!

Our Last Boating Day

We took the boat up to Pineview for our fist time on a Saturday with the Farnes family.  Bad idea.  The lake was SO crowded I was scared for our lives.  The water was choppy, the boats were so close to you you were scared for your life if you fell. Plus we totally hit a sand bar in the middle of pulling Charlie on the kneeboard, kids were flying, luckily everyone was okay but it was scary.  We finally just parked the boat and swam for a little bit, tubed a little more and called it a day.  Our boating season ended a little early this year, this might have been our last time I think.  Football started and we had A LOT of rain in August.  It was crazy.  Can't wait to take it out next year though!

Charlie surfing!  Leila loves the boat, she really does, but she doesn't want to do anything.  She got sunk both times she tried the tube with Mark (whoops!) so I think she's really nervous now.  She's happy to get in the water and sit on the boat, and once in a while she'll fall asleep. :)  Little cutie.
