Programs

Love watching these little kids perform. Charlie has his kindergarten program and Kenya had her preschool graduation. They both sang their little hearts out.

Kenya rockin' out. The girls were suppose to get red but blue is her favorite color so after they were all passes out she walked right up to Miss Lisa and traded her.

After they kissed her she said "Mom, why did they do that?" "Because they love you Kenya."

Here's some pics of Charlie's.

Singing his favorite song, the months of the year in Spanish to the macarena music and dance.

Cute little studs and some of his best buds Andru, Boston, Spencer, and Charlie.

Little Crawler

Leila is fully crawling now. She is not crazy fast like my other two but she is definitely getting around. Here she is under the table playing while Kenya and Charlie were coloring.

Love that little face. I also noticed today that she has four teeth coming in on top, ouch!

This is just a pretty rainbow we saw from our backyard. Too much rain lately! Let's hope mother nature got it all out of her system so when June hits we will be done with it this year and ready for swimming.

A Prince and his Princess

To elaborate further on my last post, here is Kenya dancing with her friend Kiley. They wanted me to turn some Cinderella music on in Charlie's room, Kenya was the prince and Kiley was the princess. I walked out of the room but couldn't help peeking through the door to watch and snap some pics.

This was right after the kiss!

Little Girls

I've said before how much easier it is for me to have little girls playing at my house than boys. If Kenya has a couple girls over, no big deal. If Charlie has a couple friends over I'm constantly telling them to keep it down or settle down or sending them outside. Here's Kenya with a couple of her best play mates. They're so cute and girlie, Kenya and Kiley had dance but cute Brooklyn just happened to be wearing a tutu too. :)

Kenya loves taking people for rides in the wagon.

10 months

I thought she hadn't changed much but she looks so big in this picture. At 10 months Leila is

Finally crawling, sort of. She'll crawl a couple steps, then she sprawls out on her tummy, pushes up to her bum, and will do it all over again. She doesn't go far and I love it.
She still doesn't roll and does not want to! I have been "practicing" with her and she fights me on it. So if she's on her back she is stuck there.
Doesn't like to be held upside down, it scares her pretty bad.
Loves babbling and loves it even more if you babble back to her.
Decided she does not like to sleep in my arms at church.
Bounces up and down every time music comes on.
Loves playing with Charlie and Kenya, they get her to laugh really well.
Drinks 4 6oz bottles a day and eats 3 meals a day. Still taking 2 2 hours naps and sleeping about 12 hours at night.
Weighs 18 lbs.

Here she is dancing to Mark's little beat boxin'....

Mothers Day

I love being a mom, and I am still amazed that I am a mom to three beautiful kids. They teach and challenge me every day and I thank Heavenly Father for sending them my way.

This morning Kenya came into our room and Mark said

"Kenya, it's Mother's Day"

K- " I know, she had a sponge."

Me-"A sponge?"

K- "Yeah! She already had a bite of her sponge!"

Me- "Oh, you mean my fudge?"

K-"Yeah, where is it? We were going to share it?"

(She made fudge for me at preschool and couldn't wait to give it to me, really because she wanted to eat it too. We each had a bite and a couple days later it got thrown out.)

Me-"I'm sorry sweetie, I already ate it all, it was so good." (see the lip start to curl down and the tears about to pop out of her eyes.)

K- "You were spose to share it wif me!" (Full on wailing now.)

I totally thought she would forget about it, I should've known better. I felt terrible. Luckily Mark distracted her quickly with a show and some cereal and she got over it pretty quick. Speaking of Mark, he let me sleep in (as much as you can with 9:00 church), served me breakfast in bed, and got me a massage and facial. Can't wait for that! After church we went to Little America with Mark's family and enjoyed a nice lunch. When we got home the whole family took a two hour nap, ahhh, so nice.

When I woke up I did some blogging, felt guilty that I wasn't playing with Kenya who asked me a couple times to play with her, I quietly ignored it and she quietly played by herself upstairs. I could've quietly continued to ignore it but decided I didn't want to do that so I went upstairs and had a tea party with her, we took a trip to Hawaii, she put me to sleep in her bed (my favorite kind of play) then Charlie and Kenya played airplane on my legs.

Dinner was cold cereal and a banana, followed with scriptures and family prayer, thanks to Mark who always remembers to do that, and kids going to bed, again thanks to Mark. A good day.

It is also my mom's 60th birthday today, she is in Arizona so we will get to celebrate with her when she comes up this week. Love you mom, you are one beautiful 60 year old!

60!

My dear old dad turned 60 on cinco de Mayo. We put a little party together for him on Saturday to celebrate the milestone.
Still looking good at 60, he is in the dating world after all.
I made my dad's favorite, grandma Poulson's famous banana cream pie (famous in our family at least.)

My dad is famous for his powerful candle blowing out skills.

My dad has 10 siblings. Here are 4 of them, Connie (Leo), dad, Doug, Dessa, (Shirley) Jack.

His posterity (minus Jordan)

Jared put together a fun slideshow of pictures throughout my dad's life then we all said a few kind words, shed some tears, and shared fun memories.

My dad's life probably hasn't turned out the way you'd hope your life might, but he has been a wonderful example in my life. I have great family memories of boating, camping, working, fhe, scripture study, and much more. Sometimes I think to myself about what I missed out on as a kid with divorced parents, and I see what my kids get to enjoy and take for granted with married parents. Last night though I was reminded that I still had a great childhood, and was able to do a lot, learned a lot, and grew a lot. I am so blessed with a close family, siblings that I like, who I get along with and enjoy being with, that's what I truly hope my kids will have too. My dad has always supported me, loved me, and been there for me, and I couldn't be more grateful for that. Love you dad.
