The Witches Council

This is our third year in a row participating in our fun neighborhood witches council amazing race scavenger hunt.  Can you tell I'm not really sure what to call this? :)  This year we happened to have the same team as last year with the Ashby's and the Hackings.  We had a great time but once again did not finish the race first.  I think we were around third place.  Maybe next year!

I thought of our costumes two nights before the party.  I must have come across these skeleton shirts with the baby skeleton on it for expecting mothers somewhere in the past.  The problem was that we had two days before we needed them and I wasn't going to pay $30+ to have them shipped.  After browsing for a while I came across a great blog that I've got a few ideas from in the past called make it love it, she had made her own pregnant skeleton costume so I decided to try it.  It was surprisingly easy, all the supplies I picked up at walmart, sweatshirt, fabric paint, freezer paper the day of the party. I cut out a stencil of what I wanted and painted it on.  A couple hours later it was dry and we had an easy warm costume for the night.  I was so relieved they turned out!  I had fun painting our faces too.  This was also an announcement to quite a few people who didn't know yet that I was pregnant.

Leila was pretty scared of us, I love her face in this picture.

Dinner before the race began.

 The plummer was a hit.

 So were Adam and Eve.

At the end of the night we all met at a designated place to see who won, I went up to a friend, Cheryle with my hood on and a blanket wrapped around me and said "I'm just glad we beat you guys!"  She stared at me and said "I don't even know who you are!"  We all had a good laugh.  Hopefully someone will want to organize it next year so we can do it again.  It won't be me though! :)

Phone Pics...

Had some extra cousins over for a day.  We survived. :)

Took Charlie and Kenya to their school carnival.  They both dunked the teacher.

Kenya lost her first tooth!  She didn't even realize it was loose, I noticed it was a little discolored and asked her if it was loose, sure enough it was.  At first she started crying, "I don't want to loose my tooth!"  I had to explain to her that a new one grows back and that the tooth fairy comes for a visit.  The next day she wanted it out, no matter what it took she wanted the tooth fairy to come that night!  Mark had a hard time getting it with his fingers and I don't pull teeth well.  Finally he got some tissue so he could get a good grip on it and yanked it out.  She started balling.  But she was glad it was out and the tooth fairy made her first stop in Kenya's room that night.  I was pretty sad when I discovered it was loose, I don't like when they start loosing their baby teeth. :(
 Holding her tiny tooth.

We've gone for a few bike rides this fall, its been so nice and Leila loves the ride.

I've been doing a healthy habits challenge with a bunch of girls, eating healthy, working out a lot, no sugar, drinking 8 glasses of water, no soda are some of things we have to do each day.  I got to watch Mark eat this when we went out one night.

I love catching her reading her books, even if she dumped them out all over the floor.

16 weeks, feeling big for 16 weeks, it's just gonna get worse!

I had a good errand day with the girls a couple weeks ago.  Sometimes running errands with them does not go so smoothly, this day they were pretty good and I got a lot done.  We followed it up with lunch at Arctic Circle.  Kenya's mouth was completely blue from her ring pop she got at the store.

Love all the silly faces.

Below is an example of errands not going so well...

She is obsessed with my gum, drives me nuts!

She is also obsessed with Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.  She loves it, her she is dancing to "Toot Sweets".

She brought these chairs in from the garage and set them up right in front of the laundry room while I was doing the laundry.

She is also obsessed with my lipstick.  They are all ruined now.
But she is still so cute.

St George

We went down to St. George with some friends over fall break.  It was so lovely down there, I love St. George in the fall.  We brought our four wheelers down and rented some razors one day and took all the kids out to the sand dunes.  The kids loved it, even the toddlers.  We just strapped their car seats into the razors and they had a blast.  I was a little nervous on our drove out to the dunes, we were going up some crazy stuff but the razors did great and no one got hurt.

Once we got to the Sand Dunes we took off and started playing.  It eventually seemed to turn to the dads taking the razors and the kids taking turns going with them.  They're the crazy fun ones, I don't quite trust myself on those (I probably shouldn't have been trusting the guys though either!)  I took a turn with Mark driving and Leila in the back with Ellie and her friend Izzy.  Leila was laughing hysterically.  She loved it.  When we went over one hill though we heard a loud thud and the razor was making a funny noise.  We stopped to check it out to find oil leaking everywhere.  The rental place sent a guy out to come look at it.  He was not very happy.  He said "what did you hit and how hard did you hit it?!"  Mark's response was "Nothing, I was driving with my two year old in the back."  We had been out there all day at this point so we headed back the easy, quick way with the guy leading us.  The whole way back Mark and I thought we were going to have to dish out thousands of dollars to fix this thing.  Luckily when we got back and they took a good look at it they realized a part had been rusting and cracked so it could've broken on anybody.  Phew!  The kids had so much fun though, something we've never done before.

We spent a day lounging by the pool.  I think Kenya was out there for 5 hours straight and didn't want to come in.  It was perfect pool weather.

That night we frosted Halloween cookies and Ashley put together a fun treasure hunt for all of us to do with the kids driving around finding all the clues.  They thought it was great.

One of the favorite spots for the kids, on the bunk beds watching shows.

I didn't really get any pics of the adults, whoops!  We were there too though, staying up way too late and soaking in the sun.  A great weekend.
