Snowbird in June
We've been planning a trip up to Snowbird so we could hike to the peak in preparation for the Wasatch Back relay race that Cami, Erianne and I are running (along with 9 others on our team.) Anyway my mom got us rooms up at Snowbird so we could stay up there the night before and hike to the peak in the morning. As it got closer we realized we would definately be hiking through some snow, mostly as we got higher on the mountain but when we woke up at 6:30 Saturday morning it was full on snowing! I've never seen so much snow in June, it was crazy. After some discussion we decided we would do the loop which doesn't take you all the way up to the peak but would still be a good hike. So we put on our yak tracks and bundled up and set out in the June snow. It was still beautiful but I just couldn't get over the fact that it was June and we were hiking in snow. It was great to be out in the fresh air though and was still a lot of fun. Afterwards we got to eat a delicious breakfast at the Forklift. Thanks mom for the Snowbird hook-ups and for being our tour guide on the mountain!
Getting ready for our hike, it's snowing in this picture but stopped once we got started.
Still so pretty no matter what's on the ground.

Finishing up the loop and heading back down the mountain.
The kids are getting close to out numbering the adults. Scary!!

You got some good pictures, we'll have to hike again soon when there's no snow so we can try out our new hiking shoes. Wanna update my blog for me, since you seem to have so much time for blogging? :)
You have such a cute family! I still think you're crazy for going out in the snow though! Can't wait for the wasatch back!

Nikki, I'm jealous of you for being so driven and in shape as to hike in the snow... on the other hand, I think you're nuts:)
