While most are heading south to find some warmer weather for spring break we had the opportunity to head east and spend the week at Vail. I had been planning on getting my snowboarding in as well as my kids skiing/snowboarding when we went, we've gone in April in years past and the snow has been decent. Well to my disappointment and joy there was hardly any snow. Disappointed that I didn't go snowboarding, excited that you could see the grass, the kids could play at the park which is usually buried, and it was in the 60's all week and gorgeous. It ended up being warmer there than in Salt Lake so that was a plus. But the best part was that there was enough snow that the kids could still ski/snowboard on the kiddie hill which was all they needed.
There is an indoor pool that's shared between a few houses that we utilized at least once a day...
When we were younger and playing at pools Cami, Kelle, occasionally Colby and I would practice our cheerleading stunts. We taught Colby well I guess, he had the kids quite entertained with his talents. :)
The best was Leila, this was the cutest thing I've seen. She would just laugh and grin when he held her up, she loved it.
Cam and Sailor
Leila loves Colby it is pretty cute.
Little rocket.
I took Kenya to the magic carpet, she did great! I love the concentration and arms out.
Charlie was not about to miss out, pink cast and all. He did great.
When we were done she skied right onto the grass. Crazy.
Playing at the park...
Second day skiing Leila tagged along. She was pretty clingy at first but then she just wanted to go up the magic carpet and run down the hill, it was pretty cute.
This is the house we stay in, built in the '60's and barely been remodeled since, it is retro at its best. My mom's boss Dick invested some money, around in Vail as it was getting started and he got a lot to build on with that investment. I think he spent $60,000 to build the house, now it's worth 18 million. Insane.
Sailor, Kaia, and Harper watched all the kids one night so we could go to dinner, just the adults. Always a treat.
My mom and her kids, minus my sister Kelle.
We spent Easter there. It was a bit chaotic with all those kids, didn't get any good pictures with everything going on...
My camera wasn't focusing, Kenya got some makeup, she imediately put it on.
Every grandkid got some Tom's from Oma.
Leila loved the candy of course.
Next was the egg hunt. We hid a bunch outside put the squirrels busted through most of the plastic eggs out there and ate the candy!
Aside from Mark having food poisoning (and four others in the family, including Charlie. We couldn't figure out what it was from but Mark got hit the worst.) We had a really fun time. Trips like these are always a lot of work and you come home feeling kind of tired and worn out but the memories and fun times that we're creating with our kids and with their cousins make it all worth it.
