We made a quick road trip to California for Mark's cousin's wedding. We stayed at the Newport Marriot, it's such a great resort that we didn't do much besides swim and hang out there. One day we did venture over to the beach. Charlie loves the waves, Kenya is always happy to do anything and had a great time. Leila on the other hand was not so thrilled this beach trip. She didn't like the hot sand (even though it wasn't that hot) and didn't love the water either. It was not her day. She did pretty good playing in the sand with dad and Kenya, in spurts at least.
Kenya was just off in her own world waddling around like a penguin. Love this girl.
I really didn't take many pictures other than our beach day. Every other day was a pool day, we were only there from Thursday-Monday. Add driving time in and it was really only three days. We were super close to surprising the kids on Monday with a detour to Disneyland for the day but Mark really needed to be home Tuesday morning and driving through the night did not sound appealing, at all. It was hard to pass up on the chance to go to Disneyland for us, but we both knew it was the smart decision. Now it just gives us an excuse to go back sooner rather than later.
Going to the pool...
We went out to Balboa Island with Kristen and Nate and Maurena and their kids. Here is Kenya with Sam.
Kristen was pretty excited to see a Zoltar machine like in the movie "Big."
