Kenya finally turned 7! I say finally because she thinks it's so unfair that she is one of the last ones of her friends to have her birthday. Give it twenty years and she'll be gloating that she's the youngest one of the bunch. I can't tell you how grateful I am for this sweet girl. She is the peacemaker of the family. She is such a good sister and truly cares for each of her siblings. She is constantly writing me love notes and thinking of others.
The other week we were at Jared and Jaynee's and the kids were all playing with some of Ren's toy swords. I guess Kenya ended up accidentally breaking one and was crying because she felt bad. She came up to me and said "Do you have $2 because I broke Ren's sword and that's how much it cost." I didn't have any money on me and we kind of just forgot about it, so I thought. A week or two later she was staying at their house while we were at Snowbird and when we went to pick her up Jaynee told me how sweet it was that Kenya got Ren a new sword. I didn't know anything about it! So come to find out Kristen took Kenya and Leila to Hollywood Connection while we were out of town and she won a bunch of tickets (like 1,200). She used some of them to buy Ren a new sword that she saw, then she wrote him a sweet card apologizing for breaking it and left it all on his bed for him to see when he got there. I was so proud of her, she did all of this all on her own. She is such a sweet girl.
Kenya wanted a "Frozen" birthday, she didn't have a friend party so I didn't do much to pull the theme off other than this cut out of Elsa and her cake. It was good enough for her.
Her birthday was on a Sunday, I think it was fun for her to get some extra attention at church.
In her new Elsa-ish dress. Her favorite color.
She had a plan for when family came over that night. She hid Elsa upstairs and told everyone she had a surprise. She came down with Elsa and she and Kiley performed "Let It Go" for everyone.
She wanted an Olaf cake so I did my best! It turned out pretty cute, at least from afar. :)
Her new gold scooter. These are the best scooters! They are an investment but worth it.
We love you Kenya! Happy 7th birthday!
