We're In!

We are all moved in and loving it!  I am so grateful to my dad for letting us live with him for so long but it is so great to have our own house again!  I know he's thinking the same thing too.  Here are some pictures, still a lot of decorating to do, give me 5 more years! :) I don't have a picture of the outside because they still haven't put up the wood beam and arch that go on the front porch so I'll wait for that before I take a pic of it.

Charlie's room, yes his mattress is STILL on the floor!  It's only been a year and a half!  I have decided to give up on trying to decide what kind/color/size of bed to get him until we have another baby, that will help me determine if I will need bunk beds or not so until then we'll have to put it on a frame, why I didn't think of that forever ago, I dunno.
The office.  I need to paint that desk black still, who has the time and energy? We all know where my last painting ambition landed, maybe I'll call Jose again for this job...

Kenya's room,  I know my kids' rooms don't look too different from their last ones but I wanted them to feel at home, plus I was fresh out of new ideas.  I had to think about too many other decisions at the time.

Great room.  What can I say, it is great.

And the kitchen/dining area.  Now if only I could figure out how to keep my floors clean for more than a day!  Really, if anyone has any advice on how they clean hard wood I would love to hear it.  I've been using the swiffer jet mop thingy which I've always used but now it takes forever and I went through a bottle of the cleaning solution in a week and a half! I need another easy solution...

Catch up

If you're wondering why I haven't posted in a while besides the fact that I've been unpacking boxes it's because I couldn't find my camera cord to upload my pictures!  My mom just gave me this camera right before our move and I was soo happy to have a better camera and sooo frustrated that I haven't been able to upload pictures!  Well tonight I decided to tackle organizing the laundry/mud room.  Although we have managed to unpack most of our things I think we've been enjoying our direct TV and TiVo a little too much!  It took all my will power to stop watching episodes of John and Kate plus 8 and get something done on my house and I'm so glad I did!  I was emptying out my last purse that I had been using (You know how you go back from wanting a big purse to a little purse, well it's time for a little one for me,) and had put a bunch of stuff in it while we were moving and I came across my camera cord, yeah!! I also found our extra set of car keys (and I thought Mark had actually lost keys for once :() a pair of earrings that I've often found myself wondering "what happened to those earrings I bought and only wore once?" Some lip gloss that I was about to buy again, and a whole lot of trash!  So happy I decided to organize tonight.  Soo let's just say this may be a long post, I have lot's of catching up to do!

Tagged

I feel the pressure since Paige is waiting for my tag post. :)  The problem is that I don't know if there are six peculiar things about me, I'll try!

1-I am a hair stylist and don't like doing my own hair!  It must be the mom in me, I've become so lazy.  I always try to do it for the sake of helping me to feel better and to keep my clients coming back to me.  Who wants to go to a hair stylist who doesn't style her own hair?  As I am typing this my hair is wet because I'm too lazy to dry it.  As long as it's done before Mark gets home...:) My kids hair never looks that great either.  I better work on that.

2-I have a retarded elbow.  My bone sticks out, it must have been dislocated when I was a kid and nobody ever knew it, how do you not know it you ask?  Who knows, I like to give my mom guilt trips about it though.  I just noticed it when I was around 7 or 8, or maybe my gymnastic teachers brought it to my attention when they would say "straighten your arm!"  I would say "I am!"  Now I get to hear it from the yoga instructor.  Mark likes to make fun of me by pretending he's me as a cheerleader and doing a high V with his arm bent.  Not funny.

3-I have an extremely big big toe, or extremely small other toes.  I was very self conscience of this as a kid, I didn't even like to wear sandals because of it.  The things kids worry about! Again Mark likes to make fun of this "The doctor must have pulled you out by your big toes!"

4- I loved 'NSYNC back in the day and got to touch Justin's hand at a concert, (sigh). They were the funnest concerts I have been to and I'm not embarrassed to say it!  I am so happy that Justin lives on in the music world.

5-I had blue eyes until I was about 12.  Then they started turning green.

6-I have always wanted to have red hair.  Not the dark red but the bright copper color.  Not that I've wanted to be born with red hair, I just want to try it out for a while.  I know most people don't like that color but I think it's so pretty and hard to achieve artificially.:)  One day I will be brave and do it.

There you go!  I tag Andrea, Brooke, and Hailey.  I too will be looking for your posts!

A Day With Kody

On Monday morning my old neighbor Tina called me to see if I could watch her boy Kody while she went to work.  Charlie was so excited to have Kody come over!  Charlie and Kody were born on the same day November 16th, almost four years ago and they've always played great together.  Well Monday was no exception, they entertained each other all day, from 10:00 to 5:00 and I got so much done!  It was so wonderful, there was  not one fight or argument they played house, built forts, crashed cars, for hours.  It helped that Kenya took a four hour nap too!  What a great day!  Hmmm....When did being able to do 2 loads of laundry folded and put away, and clean and organize all day become a great day?! :)

After I took a picture of the boys I turned to Kenya and said "Kenya say cheese!"  And right on cue she did this with a little "ba da da!"
Charlie has loved building forts lately so this was what they came up with.  That stuff on the left is insulation!  Later they were both saying how they were "so so itchy!"

My Little Kenya

This little girl puts a smile on my face all day.  Even when she's doing naughty things like dancing on the table or turning the TV on and off, she is so cute and does her little evil laugh that it's hard to be mad at her!  She is so happy all the time, doesn't seem to be effected by lack of sleep (unlike Charlie) you'd never know she was tired until you look back and she's zonked in the car seat. :)  I love when I pick her up and she puts her little arms around my neck so tight and wraps her legs around my waist, I can completely let go of her and she's hanging on to me, it's so cute just like a little monkey.  She's starting to say a couple things like "all done" and she'll put her little hands up for the sign language.  She'll do "mo mo" too with sign language for more.  She says "hi" to everyone I walk by and waves and "ba ba" and blows kisses.  I just want to squeeze her all day!  I can't believe she is 16 months old.  Love you baby!
Here she is in high chair mode.  She sometimes gets really stiff and sits in a trance when she's in her high chair.  Notice the hair, an attempt at piggies.
She loves bath time!  She throws a tiny fit whenever we take her out.  Charlie loves playing in there with her, unfortuately it doesn't last too long before he starts picking on her a bit.

Here's the difference in Charlie tired and Kenya tired.
Nothing I love more than snuggling a clean baby in jammies, a hubby too. :)

Top Of Utah Marathon!

I did it, I ran a marathon!  When I told one of my friends that I was running a marathon she was completely shocked and said "I thought you didn't like to run?"  Yep, I thought so too until I really started doing it!  I never thought I had a desire to do a marathon, still wasn't sure about it a couple months ago!  But I'm so glad I did it and I can cross it off the list.

We stayed up in Logan the night before so that we wouldn't have to wake up at 3:30 at drive up there to be there by 5.  Well, we might as well have done that because I got no sleep!  It was so awful. I am usually such a good sleeper but I could not shut my brain off.  I was so nervous and anxious.  I think I finally fell asleep somewhere around 1:00 am and woke up at 3:15 and couldn't go back to sleep!  I was trying not to think about it and let it get in my head, it's all mental right? Well I could tell a huge difference in my run.  I was about a minute per mile slower than I usually am and just couldn't keep up with Cami when we've been running the same pace during training.  My ipod died after about two songs so at mile 15 Cami gave me her ipod and left me in the dust, which I of course didn't want to slow her down.  I was just bummed that we didn't get to finish together.  Anyway, I made it through, I was too nervous to push myself too hard for fear of not finishing at all!  The last mile I got a boost of energy when I saw Mark and Charlie and Charlie handed me a flower.  I was so happy to see them, the thought kept me going.  I finished in 4:37, I wanted to finish for sure by 4:30 and hopefully by 4:20 but that's ok, it leaves improvement for next time (well I need to know how it would be on a bit more sleep don't I? ) The important thing is I finished!  Yay!
Here I am crossing the finish line with the little flower from Charlie that he picked off somewhere. :)
Here we are after the race, if it looks like I was crying it's because I was!  I crossed the finish line and saw Mark and just started crying!  I was an emotional wreck!  Cami did awesome and finished in 4:16.
Love Charlie in this picture.  Thanks for all of the support sweetie!
