I love being a mom, and I am still amazed that I am a mom to three beautiful kids. They teach and challenge me every day and I thank Heavenly Father for sending them my way.
This morning Kenya came into our room and Mark said
"Kenya, it's Mother's Day"
K- " I know, she had a sponge."
Me-"A sponge?"
K- "Yeah! She already had a bite of her sponge!"
Me- "Oh, you mean my fudge?"
K-"Yeah, where is it? We were going to share it?"
(She made fudge for me at preschool and couldn't wait to give it to me, really because she wanted to eat it too. We each had a bite and a couple days later it got thrown out.)
Me-"I'm sorry sweetie, I already ate it all, it was so good." (see the lip start to curl down and the tears about to pop out of her eyes.)
K- "You were spose to share it wif me!" (Full on wailing now.)
I totally thought she would forget about it, I should've known better. I felt terrible. Luckily Mark distracted her quickly with a show and some cereal and she got over it pretty quick. Speaking of Mark, he let me sleep in (as much as you can with 9:00 church), served me breakfast in bed, and got me a massage and facial. Can't wait for that! After church we went to Little America with Mark's family and enjoyed a nice lunch. When we got home the whole family took a two hour nap, ahhh, so nice.
When I woke up I did some blogging, felt guilty that I wasn't playing with Kenya who asked me a couple times to play with her, I quietly ignored it and she quietly played by herself upstairs. I could've quietly continued to ignore it but decided I didn't want to do that so I went upstairs and had a tea party with her, we took a trip to Hawaii, she put me to sleep in her bed (my favorite kind of play) then Charlie and Kenya played airplane on my legs.
Dinner was cold cereal and a banana, followed with scriptures and family prayer, thanks to Mark who always remembers to do that, and kids going to bed, again thanks to Mark. A good day.
It is also my mom's 60th birthday today, she is in Arizona so we will get to celebrate with her when she comes up this week. Love you mom, you are one beautiful 60 year old!
