Cherry Hill

We did get Cherry Hill passes again this summer and have gotten some good use out of them.  Leila does great in the kiddie area, I feel lucky that each of kids have gotten easier in that area.  If Charlie was the third stuff like this would be much more difficult, he was so crazy at this age!  When Leila wants to go somewhere different like the pool she grabs my hand and grunts her way over there.

Kenya and Brock

Leila loves her little tube and ball.  It's hilarious watching her try to put it on with her floaties, then try to hang on to the ball too.

We have lots of friends that have passes too which makes it even more fun.

Kenya Stories

A couple stories about Kenya lately.  A couple months ago on a Saturday I was getting ready in my bathroom and heard Kenya go outside, she's usually pretty good about playing close so I thought I'd let her go and check on her in a minute.  As I went to go look outside a few minutes later the phone rang, it was my brother Jared who is staying with us right now, he said "Umm, I guess Kenya followed me on her bike over to my house."  He lives about a mile away so you can imagine my shock!  I couldn't believe that she would be so sneaky but at the same time I can totally see how it all played out.  She loves Jared and loves playing at his house with his girls so I can just imagine her seeing him hopping on his bike and her little stealthy ways of sneaking off after him.  He said he would bring her back when he left in a few minutes.  A couple  minutes later she came in the door, I figured he just left sooner than expected, I reprimanded her on what she did and was just glad that she was ok.  Well about 20 minutes after that Jared called and said "Did Kenya make it home ok?"  I said "Yeah, didn't you drop her off?"  "No," he said "My girls said she was scared she was going to get in trouble so I guess she just took off back home."  That little stinker!  A mile there and back all on her own.  Again, just glad she was ok!

A couple weeks after that I was in the basement doing a client, Leila was asleep and Charlie was playing with a friend.  Kenya put a movie on for herself upstairs and when I came up from working I found her asleep on the couch.  This doesn't usually happen but I figured she was just really tired.  I started tidying up the house when I noticed there was an open bottle of childrens benadryl on the counter with a syringe next to it.  That's weird, I thought, I never got that out...wait a minute!  I put two and two together and had to wake Kenya up to see how much medicine she had taken.  After coaxing her for a couple minutes I was pretty positive that she only took a syringe full which was just a teaspoon, then of course she didn't even go back to sleep.  So much for child proof caps, it must not have been on tight.  When I asked her why she took it she said "because I was coughing really bad!"  I don't really give her cough syrup or that kind of medicine if she has a cough so I don't know what inspired her to give it to herself.  Once again, just glad she is okay.

Dad Time

Grateful for this man, grateful for the amazing dad that he is, I love that he continues to strive to do and be better in everything.  He is an amazing example when he hasn't always had his own.  We adore him.

Breakfast in bed tradition.

Mom Time

Mark was out of town a couple of times in June, he went on a bike trip to Moab with my brothers (his first time there!) and a business trip to Vegas.  When he is away I usually take the nights off from cooking.  I think we went to In 'n Out two times in a few days.

So, while he was here...

We were here...

This little one LOVES her fries.

Kenya was waving to all the people going through the drive through, Charlie joined in, they loved seeing if they could get people to wave back.

A couple days after Mark got back I decided to use my mothers day gift certifcate from Mark and go get a pedicure, I took Kenya with me and made a little date out of it.  She loved it.  She got her nails painted too and they put flowers on, for free. :)

Afterwards I took her to Pace's for a rainbow.  I feel like a kid again anytime I eat a pace's popsicle or rainbow.  The other day she asked me "if we could go to the place where we went after we got our nails painted"  I'm glad it made an impression on her.  Love spending time with this little cutie.

Lagoon

We didn't get season passes to Lagoon this year, after much debate, but at the first of the summer we got some really great discounted tickets from my brother so we took advantage and I was happy to cross it off the summer "to do" list.  It was a perfect day, not very hot, not very crowded.  It made me rethink our decision of not to buy passes, but in the end we stuck with it.  Maybe next year. :)  Leila loved it, especially Bulgy the Whale.

Dance Recital

Kenya's dance recital, she was cute and did a great job.  She LOVES performing.  I'll let the pictures speak for themselves...
