Vail

We are lucky enough to get to go to Vail usually once a year with my family. My mom's boss owns a home right there on the slopes in Vail and if there's a week when it doesn't get rented out my mom will open it up to us and we love it! The house was built in the 60's and hasn't been renovated since so it's very retro with turqouise trim and all but it is big enough to fit us all comfortably. We had a great time swimming and skiing/snowboarding and just hanging out! This was the first official year that Charlie skied so that was fun to see him take it on, he did pretty good, went more straight down the hill but on the second day he graduated to the lift chair, he was pretty excited about that! I finally got to get in some snowboarding this season and it was great. I went with Cami in the afternoon and the boys went in the morning. Gone are the days of snowboarding all day, 2 hours is great for me! It was a lot of fun.

How cute is he?
After the first time down the hill.
Kenya was so content being pulled around in the sled while I was watching and helping Charlie.

The boys got to work at their new iTransact Vail office.

While the girls got to work out with Tracy Anderson. ;)

The toddlers fought over this coveted toy a lot...

While the kids played/watched others play their DS's.
Our little Pirate...at Kenya's last eye appointment he officially said her right eye is crossing so she has to wear a patch 2 hours a day in hopes of making it stronger. We go back in a couple months to see, she might be needing surgery again. =( She of course tries to take it off all the time so we have to tape it on and tape mittens on her hands to slow her down, then keep her in view at all times and keep her entertained so she doesn't think about it and rip it off. Fun.

what a fun break! i feel for kenya. i wore an eye patch for awhile when i was little. it was not fun. i also remember getting sneaky about getting it off. you are smart to tape her gloves on. she is a sweetheart.

That looks so fun! How great that Charlie can ski now! We've been meaning to take Hayden, but looks like maybe next year! :) That last pictures is so sad! I can't imagine trying to keep a patch on, so the mittens is a great idea. Good luck - I hope she doesn't have to have surgery again!

My goodness, the Holbrook adventures never end. I wish I was a member of your fun family. I feel for Kenya, those mittens, ducktape, and patch must really hamper her rebellious side. I didn't know she had surgery. Best wishes that she won't need it again.

Looks like so much fun! Its always good to have a get away now and then. I feel so sorry for Kenya and her little patch. Hopefully this will help her eye and it will work. Charlie looks too cute on those skis. Fun!

So sad about little Kenya. That would be so frustrating for a little girl...and her parents :(
