Leila had her first swing ride and loved it...
On our last day we decided to go to Sand Hollow and hang out on the beach. When we pulled up there was a sign that said "Swimmers itch is out." What the heck is swimmers itch you ask? So did we. Apparently it's a microscopic bug that can get into your skin and 7% of people are allergic and it causes a bad rash. You only get it in shallow warm parts of the water, like the beach area. Right where we were going. It didn't sound like something I wanted to risk my kids getting even though the numbers were slim, especially Leila so she sat on the beach with me and the kids got in the water but tried to go in deeper and not wade in the shallow part. Luckily nobody got it but it made the trip to the beach not quite as fun as we had hoped.
The red sand got so hot when we were going back to the car, it was burning through my flip flops and my feet were on fire, and running in flip flops in the sand doesn't really work, especially when carrying loads of stuff. Charlie didn't even wear his shoes (against my recommendations of course.) He is pretty tough though, ran through it then burnt his feet on the black rubber step while getting into the car. That boy will almost always, I'm afraid, have to experience the consequences of not listening to us before he learns.
Our house is now rented out for the next 2 years, hopefully we'll be able to furnish it by then and use it while still renting it out as a vacation place for other families. That is the plan for now.

I love all your cute pictures! Are you loving your new camera? So I'm a bad mom & we went to Sand Hollow & totally played in the shallow, even though that warning did freak me out!! Luckily none of us got it, but GROSS! Glad you had a good summer, looks like it was so fun!
