Christmas Sunday

I always love the Sunday before Christmas.  I love seeing all the little girls in their Christmas dresses and boys in their sweaters.  I love the lessons on Christ.  I love the spirit that is especially strong on this Sunday.  This year my sister Kelle came with us.  She stayed with us for a few days so we brought her to church with us.  She said it had been 15 years since she had gone to a 3 hour block.  I was glad she agreed to come.  We had a "silent" Relief Society lesson where we watched a video of pictures and music with written script from prophets and apostles.  It was perfect and touched me deeply.  I even stood up and bore my testimony in the end with Cora sleeping in my arms (not for long after I got up).  I was grateful to be still and feel the love of our Savior and the true meaning of Christmas.  Every year I try to help my kids feel this but it's so easy for them and me to get caught up in everything else.  Not that those are bad things, they're fun and create wonderful memories with our family.  I just pray that they will feel the love for our Savior and the love that he has for them too.  We did a scripture advent this year where we had a chain of papers that had a new scripture every day about Christ.  They looked forward to this and I think it helped them keep perspective during the season.

Love these four.  Cora's dress use to be Kenya's, it will now be tucked away with the blessing dress they've all worn too. :)
