First Day

Kindergarten! I can't believe it's here. It seems like time has gone by so fast and so slow too. Charlie's been looking forward to this for so long. I was actually a little more sad about it than I thought I'd be. When we went to the Kindergarten open house it kind of hit me. We walked into the school and I could tell he was a little bit nervous. He was holding my hand walking through the halls and I realized that this isn't going to last too much longer, holding my hand, giving me hugs and kisses in front of friends. That is what made me sad! My little boy is going to be too cool for his mom, weird that I'm the mom and not the kid because it feels like I was just the kid. I got choked up when he lined up on the first day but held it together just fine, I did have a moment the next day while I was watching Good Things Utah for a few minutes and they were talking about their boys starting school, one of them read a poem about it and I started to cry. I'm still a little hormonal too. :) But over all I'm excited for this new step in our lives.

With his friend Kage

The shoes. First of all his feet are huge! These are a size 2, they're a little big but I wanted him to have room to grow. His feet have grown like 2 sizes a year, it's crazy. Charlie is very picky about what he wears so this year I took him with me to school shop so that I could make sure that he would wear what was bought. These are the shoes he really wanted and I don't think he's taken them off since. He's also starting to want to do his own hair a super slicked mohawk is his style of choice. It sometimes doesn't work too well with his cowlick in front but once again, he's a determined little boy. So yes, he did his own hair on the first day of school, sometimes it's just not worth the fight, right?

Very excited about riding the bus, Kenya was excited to see him get off!

Yeah he finally has moved on to kindergarten! I can't believe our kids are getting so big and we are getting old. I need to call you I have a present for your baby and my hair needs help.

Okay, so remember when I saw you at Kindergarten Orientation a few months ago? I was doing everything I could to hold back the tears, just thinking about sending my tiny Ryan to kindergarten. So that day I came home and told Matt we weren't sending him. We argued about it all summer, and finally I won. So he's not going. Of course now I have next year to look forward to sobbing like a baby when he goes!
