Field Trip and a Mess

Kenya's school took a field trip to This Is The Place State Park. First stop, a tiny little one room cabin that held 10 kids. That's what I mostly remember because when we stopped I was half joking to friends when they were saying how small it is that "yeah, and they probably had 10 kids." We later learned that they really did. Can't even imagine.

Leila wanted in on the action. They showed them how they did different chores, beating the rug, plowing the field, and laundry.

Up next were the animals. Leila loved them. She kept chasing this little pig around and squealing. It was pretty adorable. Kenya got right in there too, petting all the animals.

She would reach out and touch them then run towards me giggling.

And she's done.

They played at the play houses and trains. Leila (or as Ruby says Lolly) and Ruby.

We finished off with the train around the park. We had to hurry back home so we could pick up Emerson and be home for Knox who was getting home from preschool. (Colby and Erianne were in Europe and I was watching their kids for a couple days.)
On Friday morning the last day of having Knox and Emerson I also had my sisters baby Scarlett. That's 5 kids under the age of 4. Charlie was at school. I had to drop off Knox and Emmie to someone else at 10:00 that morning. It was a bit of a rough morning. I squeezed all 5 into my car and made it on time, then I ran as many errands in the car as I could, just to kill some time with the other 3. When I got home it was 11:30ish, I fed the 2 babies lunch and put them down for a nap, then the fun part began-clean up. I couldn't believe what a disaster was made in such a short time.
Crushed life cereal all over the floors.

Man, this picture doesn't do it justice. The floor was disgusting.

It took me a good hour and a half just to clean up the clutter and the floors and counter surfaces. Then Charlie was home, which means another cycle of mess was going to begin. Needless to say, it would be a FULL time job to keep this house in shape, that is why it is hardly ever in shape for very long.

I was happy to help my siblings out, I'm just glad I don't have 5 kids under 4 all the time. :)
