No Naps?
It's 4:00, Kenya has been in her crib since 1:30 and she's still not asleep! What is going on! I took her binky away for her naps a week or so ago and wasn't very consistent with it for the first few days but for the last 3 days I've stuck to it and 2 of the 3 days she hasn't slept! I didn't think she needed it that bad, she doesn't have it at night anymore so I thought this would be easy. She doesn't really cry either, she's just jumping around in her crib, squealing, and talking. What do I do? I'm hoping if I stick to it then it'll work out and get back to normal but what 18 month old plays in their crib for 3 hours without falling asleep? Charlie is still taking naps, I know she's not ready to give them up. The crazy thing is that she's as happy as can be. I just went in to get her out and she just laughs at me. Who is this child? She's a different one. :)

hang in there, she will be sleepy someday. having said that...i think if she still takes naps, she still gets a binky...naps are a big deal in our house.
She sounds so much like Rachel. I hate to say it but she might be done with naps before Charlie is :) I'm sure she will get back to taking them right now. She is too little!! Good luck and nice job taking the binki away. That is our next step!
We were all set to take away her binki at 18 months to get ready for her brother who would have one. She played in her crib for an hour. Kev and I decided not take it away at this time. I would rather her have a nap with a binki then no nap without. Plus we love nap time. With a new baby, boy would that be nice for her still to take her naps. Everyone is different though. Good luck!
She's so cute - what a sweetie! Sorry - I know it's not fun, or funny - but she's such a doll. I can just picture her in there jumping around, laughing & having fun! Brock loves his sleep - but he also still has a binky :( I know - bad mom!
That is so funny! I was just thinking that I am probably the only mother who lets their child jump around in their crib for 2-3 hours, just hoping that he will fall asleep sometime!!!! I just assume that if he isn't crying to get out, then he must be fine. Plus I need a nap too!
Oh Nikki, I'm right there with ya. Atleast Kenya will play in her crib for 3 hours! That's gotta be nice.
My kids stopped napping when I took away their binkies too. It's sad isn't it?
